Summer’s Over – More Model Contests on the Way

Schools are back in session, football is starting up, but there are 2 model shows shows coming up in September – a full IPMS show in Arlington, TX, and a race car only show in Irving, TX. And of course, there is the IPMS-Austin show in October. In addition, the Cajon Plastic Modelers of Lafayette, LA, have finally posted a date for their 2014 Gatorcon. Still no details up on their web site, though. Exact dates and links to event information can be found in our pre-season contest post.

HAMS held their eighth annual model car contest on August 2, 2014. This year’s theme was “Saluting Orphaned Marques”. Thirty-four modelers came out on a really nice summer day to enter 139 models in 21 categories. That became 22 categories after Competition Drag was split into two separate sub-categories. Everyone who attended, entered, and/or vended at the show helped to make the show a success.
