HAMS Models in Model Cars Magazine

Th 2012 Contest Issue (Feb/March 2012) of Model Cars Magazine is on the newsstands and two models by HAMS members appear within its covers. Under the Metroplex Car Modelers’ Association (MCMA) Showdown #21 coverage are photos of Daryl Porch’s ’50s Highway Patrol car and Mike Stucker’s ALMS Ferrari F430. A big thank you to MCMA’s Terry Love for including our models in the event coverage. Also in the issue are hundreds of photos of models from contests all around the US. All are wonderful but some are just stunning.

Movie Cars

Looking for an idea for a model to build for this year’s theme (“Movies and Television”) at the HAMS model car show? Well, check out the Internet Movie Cars Database. You’ll find a complete list of every car seen in every movie. (So they claim. I cannot confirm, but the list certainly is extensive.) Now, get building!

Houston Model Contest

While our own HAMS model show is not until August, the next show in Houston is the IPMS-Houston Modelmania on April 28, 2012, in Stafford, Texas. This will be an all subjects (including cars) model show and contest. For more info, go to the IPMS-Houston web site. Hope to see you there.
